Planning Engineer; Water & Wastewater

Overview

Stantec is looking to recruit a Planning Engineer to join our team in Dubai. The Planning Engineer will be working on projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring.

• Technical Delivery:
  Planning Engineer will oversee and coordinate the planning and scheduling of various projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time.
• Creating detailed project plans, identifying potential risks or issues, and developing contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
• Working closely with Resident Engineer, clients, and contractors to define project timelines and setting goals, objectives, and milestones.
• Monitoring the day-by-day progress of projects, including updating project plans, tracking schedules and timelines, and reporting to senior management.
• Providing regular financial reports and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
• Support project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques; identifying non-conforming materials, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.
• Assist in project administration including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• Develop the Project Execution Plan considering proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for the project with support of RE/ARE.
• Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction.
• Tracking and analyzing field results; continually comparing planned progress with actual progress and reporting differences to the Resident Engineer.
• Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate task and project completion.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Resident Engineer.
• Build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work safely.
• Operate in line with Stantec Core Values and the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

• Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects.
• Certifications in Primavera software package.
• Experience in Dubai Municipality infrastructure projects is an advantage.
