Senior Structural Engineer

My client a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy in Dubai is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, mixed‑use, and infrastructure developments, supporting design excellence and technical delivery from concept through construction.

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and coordination of complex projects, ensuring compliance with local authority requirements, international design standards, and project delivery objectives. The role involves close collaboration with internal disciplines, clients, and external stakeholders.

• Lead and deliver structural design and analysis for reinforced concrete and steel structures across multiple project types

• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports in line with international codes and local authority requirements

• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient design solutions

• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians, ensuring technical quality and knowledge sharing

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and sub‑consultants to support design development and construction delivery

• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material approvals, and respond to RFIs

• Attend design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and site meetings as required

• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, Civil Defence, and other relevant authority regulations

• Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and issue resolution

• Support project planning, resource allocation, and programme delivery

• Contribute to value engineering, risk mitigation, and constructability reviews

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred)

• Minimum 8-12 years of structural engineering experience

• Proven experience working with a consultancy in the UAE or wider Middle East

• Strong background in reinforced concrete and steel design

• Experience delivering projects through all design stages to construction

• Strong working knowledge of international design codes (BS, Eurocodes, ACI, AISC)

• Familiarity with UAE local authority requirements and approval processes

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP
  2000, STAAD, or similar)

• Experience with BIM environments and coordination tools is an advantage

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

• Excellent communication and coordination ability

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
