We are looking for a Product Development Manager experienced in the perfume and cosmetics sector to drive the creation of cutting‑edge packaging solutions. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of glass and aluminum packaging, a finger on the pulse of market trends, and a commitment to delivering packaging that sets new industry standards.
This position requires hands‑on collaboration with design, engineering, marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to transform innovative packaging ideas into reality while balancing client needs and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full cycle of packaging development for fragrances and cosmetics, from concept to launch.
- Interpret client briefs and market research into innovative, brand‑aligned packaging concepts.
- Ensure all packaging aligns with both brand identity and current industry trends.
- Use expertise in glass and aluminum to create packaging that is visually striking, functional, and manufacturable.
- Champion sustainable material options in response to environmental regulations and consumer demand for eco‑friendly solutions.
- Monitor trends in fragrance and cosmetic packaging, materials, decoration techniques, and consumer preferences.
- Integrate the latest design and material trends into packaging development to keep clients ahead in the market.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal teams (designers, engineers, R&D, production) and external suppliers to ensure project feasibility, quality, and on‑time delivery.
- Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Apply deep understanding of perfume and cosmetics industry requirements in all packaging projects.
- Track competitor offerings and new technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Present concepts and prototypes to clients, providing regular updates and addressing feedback promptly.
- Oversee the prototyping process and coordinate testing to verify that packaging meets performance specifications.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges related to materials or manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated expertise working with glass and aluminum in packaging design.
- At least 8 years in a similar role; 15 years experience in product development for perfume or cosmetics packaging preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Product Design, Material Science, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Detailed knowledge of fragrance and cosmetic packaging needs: design, function, durability, sustainability.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for glass and aluminum containers.
- Up‑to‑date on trends in fragrances, cosmetics, and luxury packaging.
- Strong network within the perfume or cosmetics industry.
