We are looking for an Assistant Manager R&D and Technical Services to support product innovation and customer solutions by developing new packaging materials and providing technical expertise to ensure performance and client satisfaction. The responsibilities of the Assistant Manager R&D and Technical Services include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day‑to‑day technical support to printing, lamination, extrusion/coating, slitting, and pouching operations.
  • Support development and improvement of flexible packaging structures including printed laminates, films, and pouches.
  • Take ownership of development, validation, and improvement of flexible packaging structures from concept through mass production.
  • Oversee laboratory testing and interpretation of results including bond strength, seal strength, COF, GSM, and barrier properties.
  • Conduct material and process trials and document outcomes for commercial approval.
  • Support scale‑up of new structures from trial stage to mass production.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for sales and customers on product performance and application matters.
  • Ensure products comply with safety and regulatory requirements applicable to target markets.
  • Support internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and documentation control.
  • Resolve recurring technical issues such as delamination, ink rub‑off, seal failure, curling, blocking, and pouch defects, ensuring permanent corrective actions.
  • Support sales with technical feasibility, cost‑performance trade‑offs, and alternative structure proposals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in flexible packaging R&D, technical services.
  • Strong hands‑on exposure to polymers, plastics processing, printing inks & cylinders, lamination, and pouching.
  • Ability to work across R&D, production, and sales.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with hands‑on execution capability, sound judgment, and a results‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong technical judgment, decision‑making ability and ownership mindset.
  • Structured problem‑solving and root cause analysis.
  • Clear technical communication and documentation skills
  • Strong English communication skills required;
    Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Technology, or relevant field.
