To manage, control and monitor all Quantity Surveying activities from the award of the work until project close out. Support the Senior QS and Project Manager in all commercial activities ensuring project cost management in compliance with our BCG established procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and supervise the take-off of measurements from drawings
- Submit interim and final applications for payment certificates.
- Prepare all commercial claims and requests for variations, provisional sums, new rate analysis, and adjustments to the contract price.
- Follow up with the Engineer/Employer for the review and approval of all the commercial submissions.
- Review and approve the subcontractor payment applications and issue the payment certificates.
- Cost management including development of budget, cost monitoring and control and recommending corrective action to avoid cost overrun.
- Prepare and submit all MIS reports as per the approved format in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the technical team and ensure that all the work inspection requests are submitted and approved in a timely manner.
- Commercially review subcontractor quotations, prepare comparative statements, and bid tabs.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by the line/function manager
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quantity Surveying or a relevant field
- Minimum ten (10) years in UAE on building projects
- Must have completed a minimum of one (1) project from commencement to close out
Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of all standard method of measurements including POMI and CESMM
- Comprehensive knowledge of quantity take-off and measurement for all types of work
- Working knowledge of various rate analysis techniques
- Working knowledge and understanding of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract
- Working knowledge of MS Office, ERP systems and AutoCAD
- Good organizational, planning and multi-tasking abilities
- Analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Exceptional presentational and communication skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Professional membership
- Experience with Candy and Build Smart
