We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in the design and implementation of mechanical systems for a variety of entertainment projects. This role involves designing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other building‑specific mechanical systems, ensuring they meet all performance, efficiency and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Design mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), plumbing, fire protection and other essential systems.
- Produce detailed design documentation, including drawings, calculations and specifications to meet client requirements and applicable building codes and standards.
- Perform system sizing, load calculations and energy modelling to optimise the performance, efficiency and cost‑effectiveness of mechanical systems.
- Collaborate closely with other disciplines (architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers) to ensure that mechanical systems are integrated into the overall building design seamlessly.
- Conduct site visits to assess building conditions, verify measurements and ensure designs are feasible based on existing or proposed conditions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and subcontractors to clarify design requirements, provide technical support and ensure the smooth progression of the project.
- Ensure that all mechanical designs and systems adhere to local building codes, industry standards and safety regulations.
- Stay up‑to‑date with the latest design software, industry practices and regulatory changes to ensure the best possible solutions.
- Perform design reviews and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.
- Integrate energy‑efficient systems and sustainable technologies, such as renewable energy systems, into designs to meet environmental and energy goals.
- Assist in achieving building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) by designing energy‑efficient and environmentally responsible systems.
- Provide technical support to construction teams during installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Address any design issues that arise during the construction phase and suggest solutions to ensure the systems are installed according to specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and performance testing to ensure systems operate as designed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, system specifications and calculations.
- Prepare and present reports for clients, stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a focus on building services or HVAC design.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and other relevant engineering tools.
- Solid understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and their integration into overall building designs.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE) and regulations related to mechanical systems.
