Job Description

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining complex enterprise network infrastructures to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. The role involves advanced configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco and Fortinet network and security solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems. The Senior Network Engineer serves as the technical lead for network projects, provides guidance to junior engineers, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business continuity and digital transformation initiatives.

DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructure using Cisco and Fortinet technologies.

Configure and optimize Cisco routers, switches (Catalyst, Nexus), and Fortinet firewalls (Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer) for secure connectivity.

Develop and implement network segmentation, QoS, and traffic management policies to improve performance and security.

Lead the planning and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansion projects.

Network Security and Compliance

Implement and manage Fortinet security solutions including Forti Gate, Forti Authenticator, Forti Analyzer, and Forti Manager.

Apply Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, and Cisco Umbrella security policies to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Manage and monitor VPNs (site-to-site, SSL) and ensure secure remote connectivity.

Perform vulnerability assessments and participate in incident response for network-related security events.

Operations and Support

Monitor network performance, availability, and utilization using tools such as Solar Winds, Cisco Prime, or Forti Analyzer.

Diagnose and resolve advanced network issues within defined SLAs.

Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and configuration repositories.

Provide L3-level support and serve as an escalation point for complex network problems.

Collaboration and Project Management

Work closely with system, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to integrate network systems with enterprise platforms.

Participate in vendor management, procurement, and evaluation of new network technologies.

Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and network policies.

Lead or assist in the planning of disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity network strategies.

Training and Mentoring

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.

Conduct training sessions on Cisco and Fortinet best practices and technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electronics.
Active CCIE certification (Optional)
Active Fortinet NSE 4, NSE 5 and NSE 7.
Preferably hold CCNP Enterprise Certifications.
Preferably hold CCNP Wireless or Cisco Meraki.
Preferably hold the F5 certification (LTM/ASM Certification).
Preferably hold Palo Alto Network Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).

Additional Information

Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Ability to produce presentation to deliver the Training and Technical Solutions.
Ability to lead technical discussion and workshops with internal teams, customers and vendors.
Ability to share knowledge and educate the team member as well as customers regarding to the new business challenges, technologies and solutions.

Compliance with policies and procedures based on the ISO standards adopted by CNS.
