Wood is recruiting for a Lead Piping Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on executing assigned scopes of work for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Dubai, UAE. This is a full‑time office‑based role in Dubai, UAE with travel requirement.
ResponsibilitiesLead Engineer responsibilities include definition and approval of technical scopes, execution of assigned scopes of work, provision of technical expertise, contributing to business growth, and managing & supervising teams.
- Assist in establishing project aims and outcomes.
- Evaluate current procedures and recommend improvements.
- Make recommendations on project organization and technical innovations.
- Supervise and participate in delivery of complex engineering tasks.
- Coordinate implementation of design engineering solutions.
- Review project‑related documentation for accuracy.
- Provide expert advice on design processes and construction methods.
- Act as Technical Authority when appointed.
- Contribute to business development through client engagement and proposal development.
- Manage and supervise technical specialists or engineers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for direct reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) requirements.

- ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) in engineering discipline.
- Chartership, PE Status or relevant professional license/registration preferred.
- Typically requires more than 10 years progressively more responsible experience.
- Technically competent in own discipline and able to supervise, manage and mentor technical professionals.
- Ability to execute and oversee project scope, budget and schedule.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external interactions.
- High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
