Resident Engineer - Underground Structures

• Supervise construction activities for underground structures including bored tunnels, cut-and-cover tunnels, stations, shafts, and ancillary structures.
• Coordinate site activities to comply with project design, specifications, international best practices, and UAE statutory requirements.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and construction sequences.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, designers, and authorities for effective communication and issue resolution.
• Ensure strict implementation of safety and quality standards on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits; identify potential issues and propose corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule and cost.
• Manage interface between underground works and other disciplines (e.g., MEP, track, systems).
• Prepare and present progress reports, technical submissions, NCRs, and site memos as required.
• Participate in risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews when required.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the site supervision team.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

• Minimum 15 years’ post-qualification experience in underground structures and tunneling, with at least 5 years in a Resident Engineer or similar supervisory capacity.
• Extensive experience on rail/metro/high-speed rail projects, preferably in the UAE or wider GCC region.
• Proven expertise in deep excavation, segmental tunneling (TBM/NATM), waterproofing, ground treatment, and structural works.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant codes/standards (e.g., BS, EN, AREMA, ACI, Eurocode).
• Strong understanding of project management, construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC), and quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluency in English.
