Caterpillar Switchgear, part of the Electric Power Division, currently has an opening for an Electrical Design Engineer located in Alpharetta, Georgia. In this role, you will design, develop and build, Low and Medium voltage switch gear for generator paralleling applications.

Degree required

• Interpret customer specifications and drawings, and apply them while considering industry regulations and NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements
• Create bill of materials in ERP system
• Provide direction to purchasing and procurement
• Provide direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings
• Support production during equipment manufacturing
• Write and validate PLC code for generator control systems, interfacing with various communication protocols
