The Tensile Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and technical evaluations for tensile structure projects. The role involves analyzing drawings, specifications, and client requirements to support bidding, budgeting, and project planning while ensuring technical and commercial feasibility.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for tensile membrane structures, including materials, fabrication, installation, and accessories
- Study architectural, structural, and shop drawings to identify scope and quantities
- Perform material take-offs for membranes, cables, steel structures, fittings, and hardware
- Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate assumptions
- Analyze tender documents
, BOQs, RFQs, and technical specifications - Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations and conduct cost comparisons
- Identify value engineering and cost‑saving opportunities
- Prepare technical and commercial bid submissions
- Assist in budget control and cost tracking during project execution
- Maintain an updated database of material rates, labor costs, and suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in tensile structures, steel structures, or façade estimation
- Strong understanding of tensile membrane systems (PVC, PTFE, ETFE, cables, fittings)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
, MS Excel, and estimation tools - Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Experience with international tendering
- Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes for tensile structures
- Familiarity with project management and cost control practices
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Office-based with coordination across design and site teams
- May require occasional site visits or client meetings
