AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We are looking for a Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) Trainee. EOTs are Amazon’s front‑line responders for electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation, including stand‑by diesel generators, switchboards, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, VFDs and building automation systems. EOTs provide 24/7 shift coverage that may include 12‑hour shifts, rotating shifts, or 3–5 day work weeks.

• Review routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer‑room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.
• Assist with the design, implementation, commissioning and build‑out of new facilities.
• Create and implement projects to increase capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
• Manage facility assets and infrastructure & inventory management.
• Oversee the management of contractors, sub‑contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Collaborate with business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimise plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.

We are experiencing rapid growth. Your onboarding will be dynamic, giving you diverse experience across new and established AWS data centres. You will rotate through various AWS locations during a 6–12 month training program, after which you will be relocated to a permanent location.

• 1+ years of experience in data centre or mission‑critical facilities (e.g., hospital, military, public safety).
• Experience prioritising and delivering projects on time in a fast‑moving environment.
• Computer literate and confident with Office Suite.

• 1+ years of data centre engineering or operations experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical degree or Cert IV and relevant experience.
