Wood is recruiting for a Lead Corrosion Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on executing assigned scopes of work for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Dubai, UAE. This is a full‑time office‑based role in Dubai, UAE with travel requirement.

About the role

Lead Corrosion Engineer – responsible for definition and approval of technical scopes, execution of assigned scopes of work, provision of technical expertise, contribution to business growth, and management of technical specialists or engineers as required.

Key Objectives

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Assist in establishing project aims and outcomes, evaluate current procedures, and recommend improvements.
  • Supervise and participate in delivery of complex engineering tasks.
  • Formulate and direct investigations or prototype studies, evaluating data and recommending practical applications.
  • Coordinate implementation of design engineering solutions, review documentation, and ensure accuracy.
  • Adhere to discipline‑specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Manage key stakeholders and organize design reviews.
  • Provide expert advice on design processes, construction methods, and technical innovations.
  • Perform the role of Technical Authority when appointed.
  • Contribute to business development through relationship building and delivery to clients.
  • Manage and supervise technical specialists or engineers, providing guidance and direction.
Qualifications
  • ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) Degree in engineering discipline.
  • Chartership, PE Status or relevant professional license/registration accredited by a recognized body preferred.
  • Typical experience of more than 20 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience; multi‑discipline knowledge required.
  • Professional knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation.
  • Ability to supervise, manage, motivate and mentor technical professionals.
  • Multi‑discipline knowledge and quality management standards and practices required.
  • Consistent demonstration of creativity and innovation in finding solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for inter‑departmental and external company interactions.
  • Agile, with ability to adapt and troubleshoot solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative.
