Job SummaryWe are seeking a Marine Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join one of our clients in Dubai. The role involves leading the analysis, design, and delivery of marine structures for ports, marinas, waterfront developments, and intake/outfall systems. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure high‑quality engineering output, and support project delivery from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and analysis of marine structures including quay walls, jetties, piers, dolphins, slipways, crown walls, and pavements.
- Design fender systems, berthing energy‑absorption arrangements, and vessel impact assessments.
- Design mooring systems and associated structural components.
- Prepare and provide technical oversight on detailed engineering reports, calculations, drawings/BIM models, specifications, and BOQs.
- Specify, review, and interpret marine condition assessments for pavements and marine structures.
- Coordinate closely with geotechnical, coastal, materials, BIM/CAD, and construction supervision teams to ensure integrated and constructible design.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international and local codes and standards (BS, Eurocodes, API, PIANC).
- Provide technical support during the tendering stage.
- Support the construction supervision team in reviewing and approving contractor submissions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, vendors, and authorities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical excellence of the team.
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
- MOHESR Certificate of Recognition.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in marine structural engineering.
- Expert knowledge of marine structural design principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in marine structural design.
- Strong background in mass concrete, reinforced concrete, and steel structures.
- Experience with concrete blockwork, sheet piles, piles, and caissons.
- Proficiency with structural engineering software: SAP
2000, STAAD, GEO
5. - Sound understanding of durability and corrosion protection in aggressive marine environments.
- Experience with mooring analysis tools (e.g., OPTIMOOR).
- Strong technical judgment and problem‑solving ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
- Effective time management and ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset within multidisciplinary teams.
- ✔ Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering Diploma (attested by UAE Embassy and MOFA UAE).
- ✔ Bachelor Degree Transcripts of Records (marks) (attested by UAE Embassy and MOFA UAE).
- ✔ Employment Certificates justifying years of experience:
- Dubai: 10 years
- Abu Dhabi: 5–7 years
- ✔ Certificate of Recognition by MOHESR.
- ✔ Society of Engineers Card.
