Senior Estimation Engineer

Pay: AED 8,000.00 - AED 12,000.00 per month
The Senior Estimation Engineer is responsible for leading the cost estimation and pricing of fabrication projects. This role provides technical, commercial, and strategic input into bids, tenders, and proposals, ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with execution capabilities and risk appetite. The role works closely with engineering, procurement, production, and project management to support profitable growth and disciplined bidding. It is expected to handle end‑to‑end projects from developing estimations, project management as well as collaboration with clients and ultimately, project evaluation.
KeyAccountabilities Estimation & Cost Engineering Leadership
Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate, and fully auditable cost estimates for fabrication projects, including structural steel, piping, maritime and modular scopes. Develop estimating strategies aligned with project complexity, client requirements, and business objectives. Establish estimating methodologies, norms, productivity rates, and cost models. Review and validate quantity take‑offs, man‑hour estimates, and cost build‑ups. Ensure estimates are compliant with client specifications, ITP requirements, and other compliance and governance mandates.
Bid& Tender Management
Act as the senior technical authority during bid and tender phases. Lead bid reviews, cost risk assessments, and value engineering exercises. Support bid/no‑bid decisions with clear commercial and technical analysis. Prepare pricing clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions to protect the business. Support negotiations with clients and partners as required.
Commercial & Risk ManagementIdentify, quantify, and price risks related to scope definition, constructability, productivity, schedule, procurement, and logistics. Develop contingency strategies and risk registers aligned with company risk appetite. Analyze historical project performance and lessons learned to continuously improve estimate accuracy. Support margin analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning for complex bids.
Cross‑Functional IntegrationCollaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Materials, and Production to ensure estimates reflect realistic execution plans. Engage early with Procurement and Materials teams to validate material pricing, lead times, and market conditions. Align estimating assumptions with fabrication capacity, yard constraints, and labor availability. Support handover of successful bids to project execution teams, ensuring full alignment on scope, assumptions, and risks.
Governance, Standards & Continuous ImprovementEstablish and maintain estimating standards, templates, and procedures. Ensure estimates are well‑documented, traceable, and audit‑ready. Lead post‑award and post‑project reviews to assess estimate accuracy and identify improvement opportunities. Mentor and develop junior estimators and estimation engineers. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across estimating, cost control, and commercial processes.
Experience & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, or related discipline). 10+ years of experience in estimation, cost engineering, or commercial roles within energy fabrication, EPC, or high‑grade heavy industrial projects. Strong understanding of fabrication processes, productivity drivers, and cost structures. Proven experience leading complex, high‑value bids and tenders. Strong commercial awareness and risk‑based decision‑making skills. Experience working within structured bid governance and approval frameworks.
Proficiency with estimating tools specific to the fabrication industry, spreadsheets, and ERP/cost systems.
