Position: Draftsman (constructions)

Job Summary:

The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed drawings, layouts, and as-built designs for construction projects based on specifications provided by engineers and project teams. The role involves creating precise technical drawings, updating site changes, and ensuring all drawings meet project standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drawing Preparation and Design

Prepare detailed construction drawings, layouts, and design plans based on project specifications.

Develop civil, structural, or telecom-related drawings including trenches, duct routes, handholes, and manholes.

Prepare as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions after project completion.

Ensure accuracy and consistency in all design documents and drawings.

2. Coordination and Communication

Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and NOC teams for updates and field changes.

Review design inputs and site measurements to ensure drawings match real conditions.

Support the project team by providing required drawings for execution, approvals, and documentation.

3. Documentation and Standards

Maintain proper record of drawings, revisions, and document versions.

Ensure all drawings comply with project standards, authority requirements, and client specifications.

Submit final drawing packages (shop drawings, as-builts, etc.) for client and consultant approval.

4. Technical Support

Provide drawing-related assistance during project execution and site verification.

Update and modify designs as per red-line markups and site instructions.

Assist in preparing BOQ quantities and measurements from drawings when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field.

Experience: 2–5 years of drafting experience in construction or telecom infrastructure projects.

Technical

Skills:

Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D),
Revit
, or other drafting software.

Knowledge of civil and structural design principles.

Familiar with telecom/civil construction drawings (ducts, pits, fiber routes, etc.).

Basic understanding of project drawings such as plan, elevation, and section views.

Good command of MS Office and document management tools.

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and coordination abilities.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.

Organized and proactive in managing drawing revisions and submissions.
