Geotechnical Deputy Discipline Manager

Overview

Subsea 7 has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Deputy Discipline Manager. Based within the Design & Analysis Department of Subsea 7’s Global Project Centre in either the Kuala Lumpur or Dubai office, you will be expected to apply geotechnical engineering principles across the full spectrum of offshore geotechnical challenges encountered by Subsea 7. The Deputy Discipline Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating the geotechnical team and associated services to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality engineering that meets both technical and commercial requirements.

The role will cover managing a local geotechnical team and support to studies and tenders, as well as involvement in live projects.

• As part of a multidisciplinary team, be the focal point for geotechnical engineering on tenders, FEED and projects.
• Deliver technical geotechnical design scopes in accordance with the requirements of the Business Management System. Includes participation in problem solving and checking adequacy of resources Understands clients' needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
• Identify, mitigate and manage technical risk, and participate in project reviews as deemed required.
• Review and validate project technical documents, as required.
• Ensure project fitness-for-purpose, legislative compliance and adherence to project budget & schedule.
• Signs and issues technical documentation as originator or checker, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy.
