Our affiliate in Dubai seeks a dedicated Pharmacovigilance Specialist to support the safety activities of Abbott EPD investigational and registered products across the Middle East and North Africa region.

Based in our Dubai location, this role serves as the primary Pharmacovigilance interface for Abbott EPD with local health authorities and ensures compliance with local regulations and internal Abbott policies. The Specialist will support the Senior PV Specialist – GEM with system maintenance, safety data management, regulatory reporting, training and audit coordination across the affiliate.

• Act as the local point of contact on a 24/7/365 basis in the UAE.
• Support the Senior PV Specialist – GEM with maintenance of the Affiliate PV System Country Chapter and development of local PV procedures, forms and templates.
• Plan and execute PV business continuity and notify any disruptions that may affect compliance.
• Receive, record and reconcile safety signals and adverse event information.
• Conduct safety surveillance, including literature and health authority website screening, and prepare local periodic safety reports and Risk Management Plans.
• Submit safety information to regulatory authorities.
• Provide basic PV training to local Abbott EPD staff.
• Retain and archive PV records.
• Implement out‑of‑office coverage for the receipt and recording of safety‑relevant information.
• Maintain the local PV product list.
• Ensure PV matters in interventional and non‑interventional studies and data collection schemes are addressed locally.
• Negotiate and implement local commercial pharmacovigilance agreements and service agreements.
• Perform due diligence for product acquisition or in‑licensing negotiated by an affiliate organization.
• Provide local PV compliance metrics and manage non‑compliances.
• Coordinate and manage PV audits and inspections at the affiliate level.
• Ensure vigilance compliance for Abbott EPD products beyond medicinal products, such as medical devices and food supplements.

• Implement and maintain a functional and compliant local PV system in GEM affiliates (UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria) and Egypt during absence of ASRs.
• Serve as the PV interface to local health authorities.
• Act as the PV point of contact for affiliate non‑PV functions and GPV headquarters.
• Collaborate with local non‑PV stakeholders for timely information exchange.
• Support the Senior PV Specialist – GEM, Manager PV Regional or GPV headquarters on global projects as assigned.

Ideally a graduate with a Life Sciences or Pharmacy degree or an equivalent qualification.

• Experience in pharmacovigilance within a pharmaceutical company preferred.
• Understanding of local PV regulations.
• Attention to detail.
• Computer literacy (Windows, MS Office).
• Good English language proficiency.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
