Since its inception in 2010, National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has expanded from a single standalone reference laboratory to a network of 12 state‑of‑the‑art facilities across the United Arab Emirates. NRL provides world‑class diagnostic services to the M42 network and partners with more than 250 clients from a wide range of market segments, including private and government hospitals, medical centers and clinics, corporate organizations, and other reference laboratories.
Medical Laboratory Technologists are responsible for processing and analyzing patient specimens across various lab disciplines, including Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular, and Blood Bank. They maintain equipment, perform quality control, and ensure accurate, timely results while following SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Receive, prepare, and process patient specimens for testing, including phlebotomy if qualified.
- Perform laboratory analyses across disciplines (Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Molecular, Blood Bank) following SOPs.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, perform quality control (QC) and proficiency testing (PT).
- Prepare reagents, control materials, and ensure proper labeling, storage, and inventory of lab supplies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (DHA, DOH, CAP, ISO 15189, JCI) and NRL policies.
- Maintain lab safety and hygiene, including sterilization, decontamination, and safe disposal of hazardous materials.
- Support continuous quality improvement, assist clients and stakeholders, and provide a positive customer experience.
- Participate in professional development and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.
- BSc in Medical Technology, Laboratory Technology, or Biomedical Science.
- DHA (Dubai) or DOH (Abu Dhabi) licensure.
- Clinical laboratory experience in Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis preferred; fresh graduates may be considered.
- Fluent in English; additional language is an advantage.
- Experience in CAP and/or ISO‑accredited laboratories preferred.
- Proficiency with laboratory software (Oracle, Microsoft Office) and skills in blood film morphology and special coagulation.
