IT Business and Technology Support Officer

Job Purpose

The IT Business and Technology Support Officer will play a critical role in supporting the Digital Platform Services and Employee Experience (DPS & EE) department. The primary focus will be on deriving data-driven insights, improving business processes, and ensuring alignment with the department’s strategic objectives.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a passion for leveraging technology to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Business and Technology Support Officer, your responsibilities will include:

1.
Driving Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor and assess existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure best practices are followed and systems are aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and effective risk management.
2.
Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams
  • Work with various teams to gather and validate requirements for process improvement.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives and industry standards.
3.
Designing and Implementing Process Improvements
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize operations and increase efficiency.
  • Align improvements with industry best practices.
4.
Supporting Project and Product Managers
  • Assist in executing processes as per agreed deliverables and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Raise service credit requests to vendors when necessary.
  • Conduct monthly service reviews and follow up on escalated items.
5.
Managing Change Requests
  • Initiate change requests and ensure compliance with the IT Governance Framework.
6.
Maintaining Management Information
  • Keep a comprehensive repository of process performance data, meeting minutes, RAID logs, and escalated items.
7.
Analyzing Data and Generating Reports
  • Analyze key datasets to create reports and presentations with actionable insights.
  • Support DPS & EE capability leads in tracking and reporting OKRs, KPIs, and SLAs.
8.
Promoting Cost Awareness
  • Apply Fin Ops practices to build a cost-aware culture across the department.
  • Focus on areas such as Private Cloud, Networking, Database, and Public Cloud.
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Background
  • A degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent) in fields such as Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Economics, or Project Management.
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing financial aspects of IT projects or related fields.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Data Analysis
    • Proficiency in collecting, curating, and analyzing data to derive actionable insights.
  • Reporting Tools and Software
    • Familiarity with financial management tools like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, cloud cost management platforms, Power

      BI, and Excel.
  • Process Enhancement
    • Ability to identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reporting.
  • IT Cost Management
    • Knowledge of IT cost components, drivers, and optimization strategies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Experience in supporting budgeting, planning, and forecasting for IT initiatives.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with IT, finance, procurement, and other departments.
  • Risk Management
    • Ability to identify and assess risks related to IT initiatives and contribute to mitigation strategies.
