• The Data Application Manager (Retail) will establish and optimise data management capabilities within the Retail sector, supporting and enhancing Al‑Futtaim’s data strategy through effective data engineering, analytics, and operational practices.
• The role will bridge retail business needs and technical execution, ensuring that data is accurately managed and harnessed for maximum business value.
• Working within the Global Technology & Digital Platform framework, the manager collaborates closely with IT partners, data governance professionals, and enterprise architects to ensure compliance with data standards and security.
• Core responsibilities include managing Azure‑based data architectures, driving analytics and reporting initiatives, defining and measuring KPIs with interactive dashboards, and leading the integration of retail systems into unified platforms.

• Develop and implement data application solutions aligned with retail business objectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Manage design, development, and deployment of data applications using existing tools and services.
• Ensure integration of data from multiple retail systems into centralized platforms.
• Define KPIs and build interactive dashboards for analytics and reporting.
• Monitor and optimise data pipelines, ETL processes, and application performance.
• Implement best practices for scalability and cost efficiency in Azure.
• Enforce robust security measures, including identity management and role‑based access control.
• Collaborate with data science teams to support AI/ML use cases.
• Lead a lean, high‑performance team, mentoring data engineers, BI developers, and analysts.
• Maintain and ope rationalise the data catalog, business glossary, and metadata management practices.
• Oversee day‑to‑day Retail Data Operations.

• Proficient in analytical solutions and data management, especially on Azure and SAP platforms.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and structured approach to delivering Retail Data Projects.
• Ability to drive organisational change across business and IT sectors.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Analytics, including implementation, transformation and support.
• Strong retail business domain knowledge and proficiency with data management tools and languages such as Azure Platform, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric, SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Expertise in data modelling, data design activities, and experience with SAP solutions such as S/4, SAP BW and SAP BO.
• Proficiency in Power
  
  BI, Tableau and Alteryx is essential.
