Underwriting Assistant - Crisis Management

We are looking for an individual to provide high quality and effective, technical and administrative support to Underwriters’, working in the Political Violence and Political Risks teams, liaising with underwriters and providing a prompt service using the company’s systems to meet brokers and clients’ needs.
To assist the underwriting team with scanning of risk information, its entry into the underwriting systems, the accuracy checking of information entered and any ad‑hoc project work that may be required.
What you’ll spend your time doing- Prepare policy and claims data for Underwriters, adhering to internal procedures, policy and timescale, to quote for forthcoming year
- Production of policy documents and certificates for all new business and renewals debiting written adhering to internal procedures and policy, within stated timescales
- Updating policies, producing new certificates and endorsements / schedules to meet individual client needs.
- Conduct accuracy checks on the work of other Underwriting Assistants / Assistant Underwriters
- Administration and housekeeping duties including structure of files, scanning, quote logging etc.
- Assist with the collection and reconciliation of premiums
- Assisting with sanctions checking and client due diligence.

For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include :
- Previous experience in a similar Underwriting Assistant position is required
- Exposure to Political Violence or Political Risk would be desirable but will consider applicants from other lines of business
- Be familiar with MS Office Excel
