Job Purpose:
To drive new business growth in the SME and corporate medical insurance segment by acting as a technical advisor and business enabler. The role involves assessing client needs, aligning them with insurer offerings, customizing medical insurance solutions, and converting new business opportunities through effective product positioning and insurer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with prospective SME and corporate clients to understand their group medical insurance requirements. Analyze client data, demographics, and benefit expectations to prepare technical briefs for insurance partners. Source, compare, and evaluate customized quotes from multiple insurers, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and regulatory norms. Liaise with insurers and TPAs to negotiate terms, obtain underwriting approvals, and present optimized solutions to clients.
Prepare and present benefit comparisons, pricing matrices, and value propositions to support new business acquisition. Maintain an updated repository of insurer products, underwriting rules, special programs, and market trends. Collaborate with internal teams (Business Development, Client Servicing, Account Management) to ensure seamless onboarding and handover post-sale. Identify and pursue cross-selling or upselling opportunities during the new business engagement process. Monitor and follow up on all new business leads, ensuring high conversion ratios and strong client engagement.
Participate in client meetings and presentations to support the sales process with technical inputs.
Business Development Integration:
Demonstrate commercial awareness and a consultative selling approach during all client interactions. Use market intelligence and insurer relationships to recommend competitive and sustainable solutions. Act as a key contributor in converting leads into signed business by combining technical accuracy with business persuasion. Support tender submissions and client pitches with compelling solution narratives and pricing strategies.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Experience:
8-10 years in medical insurance broking, health benefits consulting, or insurer account management. UAE/GCC experience preferred.
Key Skills and
Competencies:
Strong understanding of group medical insurance products, underwriting logic, and pricing models. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with insurers and corporate decision-makers. High business acumen with the ability to position technical solutions in a commercially compelling manner. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM or quotation management tools. Familiarity with DHA/DOH regulations and regional insurance landscape. Goal-oriented, organized, and proactive with a client-centric mindset.
