Materials Planning Supervisor
Job Purpose
The Material Management Department is dedicated to addressing complex aviation material needs with precision. Organized into specialized units:
Cabin, IFE, Airframe, Engines, Inventory Control, and Operations Support, along with dedicated teams for Rotable Components and Outstation support, we ensure timely availability of spares and components across the network. Our core responsibilities include managing re‑order levels, forecasting needs, inventory management and coordinating with procurement for prompt deliveries based on our quality and safety standards. We provide 24/7 support for critical / AOG requirements and facilitate outstation operations through pooling and borrowing, committing to operational excellence and cost‑effectiveness.
The Materials Planning Supervisor will support planning, initial provisioning and replenishment of aircraft spares—including Rotables, Buyer Furnish Equipment (BFE), Inflight Entertainment (IFE), consumables, tools and commercial items—to meet all Entry Into Service (EIS), operational and maintenance demands at line and base maintenance. The role also assists in inventory reviews to ensure optimum inventory levels and data accuracy.
In This Role You Will- Assist the Materials Planning Officer to prepare float/initial provisioning/replenishment by analysing manufacturer recommendations and surplus review data. Compile accurate data for calculation of float/economical ordering quantity and detect/report discrepancies.
- Carry out reviews of non‑moving and slow‑moving items as per surplus review plans and identify surplus stock items to reduce and optimise inventory.
- Monitor and highlight critical nil stock and aircraft maintenance programme item shortages as per the schedule. Review daily unfulfilled demands, nil stock reports, planning triggers and coordinate with component repairs/procurement team for support.
- Assist in defining part numbers and setting relationships in the ERP system after collecting the required data from technical manuals and other technical documentation/approvals.
- Review all heavy maintenance and line support work package demands prior to aircraft induction and ensure all spares & equipment are made available prior to the start of check. Review material shortage reports and action all open requirements for scheduled and unscheduled tasks. Liaise with workshops for in‑house repair or fabrication of required items/materials.
- Support the Material Planning Officer in ensuring all material and tooling requirements for aircraft on ground (AOG) in Dubai and outstations are immediately actioned. Take immediate and appropriate actions on all AOG, flight protection and rush tag requests from maintenance by preparing required documentation and transporting material in the quickest time frame.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that required material is available in stock for support of outstations. Arrange spares and tools required to be positioned at outstations by liaising with the warehouse and dispatch teams.
- Assist the Material Planning Officer by expediting all open orders, coordinating with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely shipment and receipt of items/material as per requirement.
- Carry out stocktaking of EK inventory at DXB and outstation stores, to achieve the desired level of accuracy of inventory against physical stock levels.
- Assist Material Planning Controller and Officer to carry out regular reviews of gross stock value, service levels, inventory float & quantities, usage and other planning parameters of the inventory control module in the ERP system, in order to maintain data accuracy.
- Assist periodic audits of inventory parameters including reorder point, order quantity, lead time, average monthly usage (AMU) and recommend areas to improve metrics.
