Transport Supervisor - External

Overview

The Transport Supervisor - External Hire will be responsible for sourcing external hire plant and equipment to meet the needs of all Dutco Group Projects. This role involves coordinating with project teams and external suppliers, ensuring timely repairs and replacements of equipment, organizing mobilization and demobilization of external equipment, and maintaining accurate documentation.

• Source external hire plant and equipment to meet the requirements of Dutco Group Projects.
• Coordinate with project teams and external suppliers on a daily basis regarding site requirements.
• Follow up with sites on breakdowns of external hire equipment and liaise with suppliers for timely repairs or replacements.
• Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of external equipment to projects using lowbed trailers and ensure complete documentation.
• Enter and approve external hire requisitions in the build smart system.
• Prepare and update monthly summaries using MS-Excel and company software (preferably buildsmart).
• Generate build smart requisitions and amend requisitions for purchase orders related to external hire invoices.
• Perform filing and routine office tasks as needed on a daily basis.

• Proven experience in a similar role within the logistics or construction industry.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to work with project teams and external suppliers.
• Proficiency in MS-Excel and familiarity with buildsmart software is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate documentation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of lowbed trailer mobilization procedures and equipment sourcing is a plus.
