Head Gardener

We are looking for an experienced Head Gardener to oversee and manage the care, maintenance, and development of private gardens across properties in the UAE, Spain, and Australia. This is a senior role that requires both hands‑on expertise and strong leadership skills. The position involves regular international travel, with primary responsibility for a large private garden in Spain, as well as oversight of gardens in the UAE and Australia.

• Manage and supervise all gardening and grounds activities across the three properties
• Lead and train local gardening teams and contractors to ensure high standards
• Oversee the seasonal care and upkeep of formal, informal, and specialty gardens
• Work closely with landscape designers, irrigation specialists, and property architects
• Plan, select, and maintain a wide range of plants suitable for different climates
• Ensure effective irrigation, fertilization, soil health, pruning, and pest control
• Develop planting schemes that match the household’s preferences and lifestyle needs
• Oversee garden budgets, purchasing, and stock control
• Ensure all work is carried out with discretion and professionalism in private settings

• Degree in Horticulture or similar qualification (required).
• At least 5 years of senior gardening/landscaping management experience, ideally in private estates or VIP households
• Knowledge of both arid landscaping (UAE) and European/Australian garden styles
• Proven experience managing large gardens and outdoor spaces
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Flexible and willing to travel internationally between properties
• Valid passport with the ability to work and travel in the UAE, Spain, and Australia.
