Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Director -
Glass to lead quality assurance and control efforts across glass packaging operations, with a primary focus on fragrance bottles. The Quality Director will be responsible for maintaining the highest product quality standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in safeguarding product integrity and enhancing the overall quality framework across all glass components.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in glass manufacturing and inspection processes, a strong grasp of cosmetic packaging standards, and a proven track record in supplier management, audit leadership, and quality system development.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Strategy & Oversight
  • Develop and implement the overall quality strategy for the glass packaging division, aligning with company standards and client expectations.
  • Define quality objectives, KPIs, and compliance goals to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Audit and evaluate glass bottle manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to ensure compliance with specifications and international quality standards.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and foster performance improvement.
  • Establish and monitor supplier scorecards and drive accountability across the supply chain.

Product Quality Assurance & Control

  • Oversee incoming inspection processes and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for defects or non-conformities.
  • Approve first article inspections, quality protocols, and specifications for glass packaging components.
  • Ensure technical documentation, drawings, tolerances, and finishes are properly validated and aligned with regulatory and brand requirements.

Client Quality Support & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major clients regarding glass packaging quality concerns, claims, and audits.
  • Manage quality reports, CAPAs, and complaint resolution processes in collaboration with commercial and technical teams.
  • Support client presentations, audits, and documentation requests related to quality certifications and procedures.

Compliance & Regulatory Management

  • Ensure all products and processes comply with international standards (e.g., ISO, REACH, FDA if applicable) and internal quality systems.
  • Maintain updated documentation, certifications, and quality control records in line with industry best practices.
  • Build and lead a cross-functional quality team covering quality control, assurance, and inspection.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and continuous development to improve quality culture across the organization.
Qualifications &

Experience:

  • Proven experience in quality management for glass packaging, preferably within the fragrance, cosmetics, or luxury goods sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of glass production methods, quality control processes, and defect identification.
  • Minimum of 10 years in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Hands‑on experience with supplier audits, client complaints handling, and compliance with international quality standards.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Material Science, Industrial Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, CQE) are strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • li>Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for supplier and client interactions.
  • High attention to detail and organizational discipline in documentation and process control.
  • Fluency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and defect classification criteria.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, quality management software, and ERP tools.
