F & B Bar Supervisor cum Junior Sommelier for The Dubai Edition
The F&B Bar Supervisor cum Junior Sommelier is responsible for overseeing the beverage program including wine, spirits, cocktails, and non‑alcoholic offerings while providing sommelier support to elevate the guest dining experience. This role balances operational beverage management with foundational wine expertise, ensuring quality, consistency, cost control, and exceptional services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and update beverage menus including wines, spirits, craft cocktails, beers, and specialty beverages.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels; oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation.
- Monitor beverage cost, margins, and sales performance; implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with bar teams to maintain cocktail quality, preparation standards, and presentation.
- Establish and enforce beverage SOPs to ensure consistent, high‑quality service.
- Assist in curating a well‑balanced wine list aligned with the restaurant’s cuisine and concept.
- Provide wine recommendations and pairing suggestions to guests, offering warm and informed table‑side service.
- Support staff during service by opening, decanting, and serving wine when required.
- Conduct regular wine tastings and staff training sessions on wine knowledge, service standards, and new arrivals.
- Assist in evaluating and sourcing new wines, liaising with suppliers and vendors.
- Deliver an exceptional beverage experience with an approachable and knowledgeable presence.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve issues regarding beverage selections or service.
- Engage with guests to promote signature drinks, wine pairings, and specialty offerings.
- Work closely with chefs, bar staff, and management to ensure cohesive beverage and menu pairing strategies.
- Train and mentor team members on beverage standards, upselling techniques, and responsible service.
- Prepare beverage cost reports, inventories, and performance analyses.
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and planning beverage‑related promotions or events (wine dinners, tastings).
- Maintain accurate records for supplier dealings, invoices, and cost controls.
- Certification in wine studies (WSET Level 2/3, Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory, or equivalent) preferred.
- Previous experience in F&B management, bar operations, or wine service.
- Strong knowledge of world wines, spirits, and mixology fundamentals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest‑service skills.
- Strong organizational and cost‑control abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and lead by example.
- Professional appearance and a passion for hospitality.
