The Role

Our client is seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for assisting customers in finding and purchasing the required merchandise in a retail environment. To succeed in this role, you should have a positive attitude and a desire to work cooperatively with the team to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with information about products and/or services
• Respond to customers questions and guide them throughout the store
• Maintain knowledge about the store's products, promotions, and sales to provide accurate information to customers
• Operate cash registers, manage financial transactions, and balance drawers
• Ensure that all displays are visually appealing and organized
• Restock shelves when necessary to ensure product availability
• Participate in inventory control and ensure that any shrinkage is minimized
• Handle product returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the store, especially in areas like the checkout counter and displays
• Meet or exceed sales targets by utilizing effective selling techniques
• Collaborate with team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organized at all times
• Follow all store operational policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Food store is an advantage
• Previous similar experience is mandatory
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well within a team setting or independently
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple customers simultaneously
• Basic math skills for handling cash and inventory
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
