About the Job

Aeliasoft is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our fully remote team, supporting one of our key partners in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend systems using PHP 8+ and the Laravel framework
, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. You will work closely with frontend, mobile, and Dev Ops teams to build robust, future‑ready solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.

Backend Development

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP, Laravel, and modern design patterns. Ensure clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.

Database Design & Optimization

Model relational databases (Postgre

SQL / MS SQL Server), write optimized queries, manage migrations, and ensure data integrity, high performance, and scalability.

System Architecture & Scalability

Participate in architectural discussions, build modular service layers, implement queues, caching strategies, and optimize systems for high throughput and low latency.

API Integration & Documentation

Build robust API endpoints, integrate with third‑party services, and maintain clear API documentation for frontend and mobile teams.

Testing & Code Quality

Implement unit, integration, and functional tests using PHPUnit / Pest. Conduct peer reviews and enforce best practices in coding standards and architecture.

Security & Compliance

Apply security best practices including authentication/authorization, OWASP guidelines, encryption, and data protection. Monitor and mitigate risks.

Performance Optimization

Profile and optimize backend performance – improving response times, database indexing, caching, and memory footprint.

Dev Ops & Collaboration

Work closely with Dev Ops engineers to ensure smooth deployment pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Docker, CI/CD) and maintain reliable staging/production environments.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve production issues, logs, and server bottlenecks with a focus on stability and continuous improvement.

Continuous Learning & Team Growth

Stay updated on Laravel's ecosystem, PHP standards, and backend technologies. Mentor junior developers and contribute to internal engineering knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Expert‑level proficiency in PHP 8+ and Laravel Framework
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, queues, caching, and task scheduling
• Experience with Postgre
  
  SQL / MS SQL Server, query optimization, and database architecture
• Familiarity with Redis, Web Sockets, and asynchronous processing
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS / GCP preferred)
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and scalable system design
• Proficient with Git workflows and collaborative development
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Hub Spot API is a strong plus, especially in workflow automation, CRM sync, and data integration
