To drive heavy duty trucks including car carriers, flat bed or low bed trailer trucks and heavy goods vehicles; loads and unload vehicles and deliver heavy equipment or goods to various locations throughout the KSA Region. Assist in the movement of light vehicles at all Al-Futtaim Logistics locations in KSA.
Required skills to be successful- Maintain economical fuel consumption through good driving practices and ensure vehicles are filled with a full tank at the end of each shift.
- Inspect Truck, Car-Carrier and load for defect during and after trips and submit a written report if any defect found.
- Submit all relevant items listed in the driver SOP accurately and on time; including Trip Sheets, Fuel Receipts, signed DOs, Police Reports and Defect Sheets.
- Maintain a 100% damage-free record. Report all accident or incidents involving company equipment to Planning Team. Accurately maintain driver logbook in accordance with company requirements.
- Provides a communication link between customers and Planning staff. Good communication and diplomacy skills required.
- Knowledge of basic truck & automotive maintenance procedures. Awareness and compliance of company Health & Safety Policy. Knowledge of KSA roads and RTA regulations.
- Adhere to company Quality SOP for driving and handling new vehicles.
The role will report to the Transport Planner and you will be working in a very busy and fast pace environment.
What equips you for the role- The ideal candidate for this role should have a heavy-duty vehicle KSA driving license with class category 4.
- You will have at least 2 years’ experience in driving car carriers, flat bed or low bed trailer trucks and heavy goods vehicles.
- You will have the ability to speak, read and write in English and preferably some basic Arabic speaking & writing skills.
