The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of rental equipment across yards, customer sites, and maintenance locations. The role ensures timely delivery, collection, and availability of machines while optimizing fleet utilization, minimizing transportation costs, and supporting both operations and sales functions.
Key Responsibilities Fleet & Equipment Movement- Plan and coordinate daily transportation of rental equipment (AWP, Earthmoving, Scaffolding, etc.)
- Schedule deliveries, replacements, relocations, and collections efficiently
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers, and yard teams to ensure on-time movements
- Optimize vehicle routing and load planning to reduce idle time and logistics costs
- Monitor transportation KPIs such as on-time delivery rate and turnaround time
- Track GPS and fleet movement for better planning and reporting
- Work closely with Sales, Service, and Operations teams for scheduling and job planning
- Communicate equipment availability and movement status clearly across teams
- Support Sales in urgent deliveries and customer commitments
- Prepare and maintain logistic documents (delivery notes, collection reports, gate passes, movement permits)
- Ensure compliance with local transport regulations and company SOPs
- Maintain equipment movement tracker and update ERP/system records
- Coordinate with third‑party transporters and monitor their performance
- Negotiate transport rates and maintain cost control
- Track transporter invoices and reconcile movements with billing
- Monitor yard stock of available, under‑maintenance, and rented equipment
- Coordinate internal transfers between branches for demand balancing
- Support asset team in physical audits of equipment
- Generate weekly/monthly reports on equipment movements, transporter cost, and utilization
- Identify gaps and suggest process improvements for logistics efficiency
- Support management with logistics planning for new projects or peak season
- Knowledge of equipment rental operations (AWP / Earthmoving / Heavy Equipment)
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Cost control and negotiation skills
- ERP / Logistics tracking system experience
- 3–6 years of experience in logistics within rental or heavy equipment industry
- Experience handling inter‑branch equipment movements across UAE / GCC
