The Planner - Delivery is responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods to customers in line with FMCG business requirements. The role ensures optimum route planning, delivery scheduling, and inventory readiness while maintaining high service levels and minimizing logistics cost. This position plays a key part in supporting daily operations and achieving customer satisfaction through efficient delivery planning.
Tactical- Develop delivery plans based on daily sales orders, stock availability, and logistics capacity.
- Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure alignment on delivery priorities.
- Monitor service levels, delivery lead times, and route performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to company delivery KPIs and cost‑efficiency targets.
- Allocate delivery routes to drivers based on order volume, geographic zones, and vehicle capacity.
- Prepare daily and weekly delivery schedules and update them in the system (ERP/SAP/Route Optimization tools).
- Track delivery progress and proactively address delays, route issues, or customer complaints.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse teams to ensure timely picking, staging, and loading of goods.
- Validate delivery documents (DOs, invoices, PODs) and ensure accuracy in system entries.
- Monitor vehicle availability and maintenance schedules to avoid operational disruptions.
- Maintain updated records of daily deliveries, cancellations, and re-deliveries.
- Prepare reports on efficiency, delivery accuracy, and customer service performance.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance delivery productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with drivers and delivery staff to ensure smooth execution of delivery tasks.
- Guide delivery team members on route efficiency and customer handling techniques.
- Support training and onboarding of new delivery personnel regarding delivery procedures and SOPs.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics (APICS, CILT, etc.) is an added advantage.
- 3-5 years of experience in delivery planning, route optimization, or logistics operations within the FMCG industry.
- Strong experience in ERP/SAP systems and planning tools & Roadnet software.
- Knowledge of FMCG distribution channels, delivery procedures, and market geography.
