Aircraft Technician

Job Purpose

At Base Maintenance, our expert engineers deliver unparalleled service for all aircraft checks, from comprehensive inspections to major system repairs. We handle cabin retrofits, aircraft deliveries, and detailed inspection programs for Airbus A380, A350 and Boeing 777.

Our team excels in timely, cost‑effective solutions for A & C checks, engine change, landing gear changes, unscheduled maintenance and pre‑service checks. As an Aircraft Technician you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks on Emirates and third‑party aircraft components in accordance with company procedures and regulations, working as part of a team under the direction of a licensed aircraft engineer.

• Carry out routine aircraft/engine/component servicing/maintenance and/or approved structural repairs compliant to manufacturers procedures whilst observing all safety procedures for fluid replenishment, aircraft refuelling, aircraft systems charging/servicing as required.
• Complete any component replacement and other maintenance activities as directed by immediate supervisor, including obtaining and understanding the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) or other approved documentation.
• Assist licensed aircraft engineers in troubleshooting, defect rectifications and carrying out modifications while also performing instructions contained in the job card.
• Participate in creating a safety culture to minimise accidents and highlight any deficiencies/failures that can lead to such accidents; ensure all work locations are kept clean and maintain excellent housekeeping, including communication of safety shortfalls.
• Maintain vigilance in ensuring work areas (including the ramp), vehicles, stands, lockers are free of FOD and that toolboxes are regularly audited, maintained and kept clean.
• Maintain knowledge of airport safety regulations, hold and maintain an Airport Driving Permit, and be fully conversant with airport manoeuvring area requirements.
• Manage performance by working closely with the supervisor on performance management processes, using My BC system to agree on development plans including training and development requirements.
• Ensure prompt attendance to all allocated tasks to maximise ground time and avoid operational delays/disruptions; obtain aircraft/component status brief from the licensed aircraft engineer, reports, and prepare work accordingly. Communicate any aircraft/component/structural defects to the LAE in a timely manner.
• Use current knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance to assist in resource allocation using RMS / RTC as required.

• Experience:
  
  5+ Years in an aircraft maintenance environment.
• Qualification:
  
  12 + 2.
• Knowledge/skills:
  Apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance or equivalent training with a reputable airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organisation or Engineering Aircraft Maintenance License.
