Specialty Doctor – CAMHS

The speciality doctor role involves covering CAMHS crisis for half the time and the core CAMHS sector for the rest. The crisis role supports the Crisis team in assessing and treating CYP in crisis with a wide range of mental health issues, working with an experienced CAMHS crisis consultant. The core sector role provides support to sector consultants with patients presenting with mental health or neurodevelopmental issues.

• Cover CAMHS crisis and core CAMHS teams, co‑operating with senior consultants.
• Work with the ADHD team for half the time, supporting the lead and consultants in MDT discussion, new patient assessment and follow‑ups.
• Support sector consultants with moderate to severe mental health issues in children and young people.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is rated “Good” by the CQC and is the lead provider for mental health services across The Black Country. We are developing new integrated primary and secondary care models and a far‑reaching inpatient strategy.

• Assess and handle a wide range of psychiatric disorders.
• Develop and offer specialist therapeutic skills and services.
• Gain experience of specialists within the services, with ample training and development.
• Have full GMC registration and be Section 12 approved (ideally).

• At least 3 years experience in psychiatry.
• GMC Registered.
• Section 12 approved.
