CAD Design Engineer

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with design and manufacturing experience in sheet steel and with knowledge of electrical systems using AutoCAD and Radan.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Design and Projects Engineer to join our clients growing team. In this role, you will transform customer specifications into fully detailed production drawings, specifications and manufacturing instructions along with supporting documentation to ensure high quality projects are delivered on time and to customer quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

You will:

* Work closely with customers and internal sales teams to understand customer requirements and specifications.

* Translate customer needs into manufacturable designs including all documentation and information required by the shop floor.

* Increase your CAD/CAM skills systems and contribute to the improvement of standard instructions and processes.

* Liaise with production colleagues for project updates and liaise with the customer.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives, value engineering activities and process optimisation.

Candidate Requirements:

You will be a customer focussed engineer with a right first time approach and the ability to deliver projects to customer timescales consistently. You will enjoy working in a team environment and collabortaing with colleagues accross the business.

You should have:

* HNC/D or Degree in Engineering (desirable).

* Strong communication skills with colleagues and cutomers.

* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.

* Competent in AutoCAD (2D) and Radan (2D).

* Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
