We are pleased to support a forward-thinking SME manufacturing business based in Dudley, which has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer. The role involves creating drawings for standard and bespoke orders, receiving customer specifications, and producing CAD drawings, models, and BOMs. The company is experiencing growth and has an excellent market reputation.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Producing detailed designs, drawings, and models for bespoke and standard products
  • Creating technical specifications and BOMs
  • Ensuring drawings meet customer specifications
  • Liaising with internal teams and customers on design specifications
  • Creating production drawings for manufacturing
  • Planning and conducting product testing
  • Collaborating with production teams to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture
  • Updating internal departments on project status
  • Improving existing designs and product ranges
  • Handling technical queries via phone or email

    • Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably Solid Works
    • Degree in an Engineering discipline
    • Sheet metal experience is advantageous
    • Experience in a similar role
