Sr. Construction Supervisor

Primary Purpose Of The Job

Responsible for supervision of construction works executed by contractors to ensure Department’s assigned projects are constructed in accordance with the approved Scope of Work, engineering design, QHSE standards & specifications. Oversees and provides guidance and advice to Construction Supervisors in review of construction method statements, material submittals, commissioning and handover to end users. Responsible as performing authority for Permit to Work by the Contractors.

• A minimum of twelve (12) years' experience in relevant construction and installation experience of projects in oil & gas industry.
• Supervise and control the site construction/installation of works associated with Oil & Gas projects in assigned operational areas covering a single discipline, i.e. mechanical, electrical, or two related disciplines, i.e. civil, structural, electrical & instrumentation activities.
• Direct a team of Construction Supervisors, providing discipline-related direction, guidance and advice.
• Be a safety leader for all site construction activities.
• Review the contractors’ construction plans and schedules.
• Coordinate and control the mobilisation of contractors to sites following contract award.
• Facilitate issuance of necessary permits when requested by Contractors.
• Coordinate the site supervision of construction/installation stage of projects on various sites.
• Inspect and monitor contractors’ Site work related to his area of discipline to ensure compliance with the approved design and report variance to his supervisor.
• Supervise and control the checking, inspection and testing of completed work, and/or arrange appropriate pre-commissioning inspection and tests.
• Review commissioning procedures and participate in the commissioning of facilities and subsequent acceptance and handover process.
• Liaise with engineering personnel to provide advice and assistance on matters relating to his particular engineering discipline.

• B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline from a recognized University or Diploma with extensive construction related experience in oil & gas industry.
• An additional/secondary HSE qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous.
