Description

Do you have strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to respond quickly to new demands and manage competing priorities and tasks to support the delivery of key business priorities?

The Analysis and Insight team delivers analytical support to Social Security Scotland across three professional specialisms – Social Research, Operational Research and Statistics – providing evidence, analysis and insights across devolved benefit delivery. The statistics team, on which this post will be based, produces official statistics publications and management information, as well as leading a range of developmental work to meet the data needs of internal and external stakeholders. This post is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team and lead work to improve the business processes that are used to prioritise work and communicate progress to help deliver key business outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead work to update the priorities tracker tool to maintain the list of priorities that Analysis and Insights statistics teams are currently working on, ensuring that captured priorities are accurate and up to date; progress is documented and assigned resource is recorded.
  • Provide regular overviews to inform team leaders and senior leaders of current progress against priorities, highlight risks in delivery and document any decisions taken by team leaders to re‑prioritise or re‑allocate resources.
  • Provide support to team leaders in project planning.
  • Support the maintenance of the unit risk register, ensuring content is routinely reviewed and updated.
  • Support the management of the statistics team mailbox, documenting data requests and the assignment of tasks to team members.
  • Support the maintenance of documentation such as updating forthcoming publications on our website and the Scottish Government’s website.
  • General business support to the statistics teams in Analysis and Insights.
