As the NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation, formerly known as Tayside Health Fund, we are seeking to appoint a Head of Finance to lead the Finance Team and maintain strong financial management underpinned by effective financial controls, ensuring stewardship of resources and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Tayside NHS Board Endowment Fund is valued at approximately £37 m and comprises over 450 individual funds. Annual investment income is ~£1.2 m and donations and legacies amount to over £1.8 m per year. The Head of Finance will provide leadership over the portfolio and funds and offer financial and non‑financial advice to fund holders on all aspects of endowment funds.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Finance Team and oversee day‑to‑day financial operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective financial controls and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
  • Provide financial leadership for the charity, including investment strategy and reporting.
  • Represent the charity’s financial interests to fund holders and external stakeholders.

Candidate expectations:

  • Must achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
  • Must comply with the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
  • Available to work 37 hours per week.
