Symbiotic Talent is partnering with an organisation in Dundee to recruit for a Financial Analyst on a hybrid (min 2 days in the office) basis. This is a diverse role supporting the production of all financial reports for both management and external reporting, and budgeting. An excellent blend of supporting Senior Accountants with the reporting cycles and ownership of the end to end of process of own tasks and leading with various initiatives.

The Role

• Prepare key schedules and analysis to support the production of the monthly management accounts
• Support the production of the audited financial statements leading on key areas of P&L and balance sheet
• Support the production of consolidated annual budgets and three-year plans leading on some key themes
• Support the development of the capability to produce accurate forecasts of financial performance
• Monitor financial ratios and KPIs
• Lead on a range of initiatives and developments appropriate to the seniority of the role
• Work with senior team members to develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement to drive service levels, quality of internal control, promote efficiency and make the best use of resources (e.g. system capability)
• Demonstrate initiative and a pro-active mind-set in identifying improvement opportunities, investigating and resolving financial issues and challenging established ways of working
• Develop and maintain relationships at senior levels to enable delivery of professional financial challenge, support and advice
• Provide cover, as required, within the Financial Accounting team, in particular for the Reporting Accountant and Financial Accountant.

The Person

• Fully qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
• Experience of financial analysis and reporting
• Capable of dealing with technical accounting issues
• Ability to build effective working relationships
• Able to explain complex financial financial issues to non-finance people in a simple way
• Open to change, adaptable and resilient
