This is a great opportunity to join my client, an exciting, growing Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a new office location in beautiful Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to an exciting range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are actively seeking a skilled, enthusiastic Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver a diverse range of challenging projects across the region.

You will have a genuine hand in establishing and leading a team of design professionals, based near the beautiful, historical city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

Leading an array of infrastructure design projects and developments
Managing the day-to-day running of projects, from inception through to successful delivery/implementation
Providing mentorship and support to colleagues as they progress, overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Building and maintaining important professional relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Preparing, checking, and submitting technical documents, including reports, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and more
Promoting company policies, procedures, and best practice at all times
Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards and regulations, setting examples
Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events

Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
Extensive experience in an infrastructure design role, within a UK-based consultancy setting
Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (especially drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects

Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling
Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission

Experience of managing people and projects within the industry
Prior experience of managing client and stakeholder relations, influencing Business Development (BD)
Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hold a full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a cognate discipline

Experience of preparing Flood Risk and/or Transport Assessments

Experience of working in a public-facing role
