35.00 Hours per week - Monday to Sunday working 5/7 days - Lynebank & Queen Margaret Hospitals

An opportunity has arisen for to join our Portering Service Team in West Fife to provide a portering service wards and departments at Queen Margaret and Lynebank Hospitals.

Responsibilities

We require applicants to be enthusiastic, reliable, and flexible and have the ability to work as part of a team for this post.

Flexibility to cover other shift patterns when required is essential. Previous experience of driving vehicles knowledge of teletracking, team working experience as well as customer service, time management skills and flexibility are key requirements.

Good communication skills are necessary to perform this role safely and effectively.

Previous portering experience is desirable and full training will be provided.

Manual handling duties can vary from patient movement throughout the hospitals via chairs, trolleys and beds. Delivery/collection of goods that include, meal trolleys, collection of waste/disposal, furniture, mail room duties and any ad hoc service as required.

You will be provided with uniform and personal protective equipment where this is required and will be expected to adhere to the NHS Fife Dress Code.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

Please note as this a part time post salary is pro rata. As from 1/4/2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. Please note that the pay scale in this advert will not be changing as a result.
