Responsibilities

Lead and manage geotechnical aspects of major road projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.

Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis.

Interpret geotechnical data to provide recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, and other geotechnical aspects.

Develop and review geotechnical designs and plans for road construction projects.

Oversee the implementation of geotechnical solutions, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards.

Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and performance of geotechnical elements.

Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with geotechnical design and construction standards.

Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including investigation findings, analysis, and recommendations.

Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on geotechnical matters, identifying and resolving issues that arise during the construction process.

Requirements

Eng / / Eng qualification in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering

Must be / Eng registered

Minimum 20 years’ relevant geotechnical experience on major road projects

SANRAL roads experience

Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

Proficient in geotechnical software and tools for analysis and design

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders

Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to address complex geotechnical challenges

Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to geotechnical engineering and road construction.
