Contract / Project-Based Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Merchandise & Marketing Solutions Architect with a strong SAP background to lead the design and integration of end-to-end retail and merchandising solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical and functional expertise across SAP modules related to merchandising, marketing, and retail operations, ensuring alignment between business requirements and system architecture.

Design and implement SAP-based solutions for Merchandise and Marketing functions.

Lead solution architecture design sessions and ensure cohesive integration across SAP SD, MM, Pricing, F&R, and PMR modules.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate merchandising and marketing requirements into scalable system solutions.

Define architectural blueprints, solution roadmaps, and integration points with existing systems.

Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, governance, and best practices.

Provide guidance to project teams throughout the solution lifecycle—from design to deployment.

Support testing, change management, and user adoption activities.

Partner with cross-functional teams including supply chain, logistics, and finance to ensure system harmony and data integrity.

Minimum 8 years' experience in SAP Solution Architecture roles.

Strong SAP expertise across SD, MM, Pricing, F&R, and PMR modules.

Proven experience in Wholesale and Retail environments (FMCG / Retail sector highly advantageous).

Deep understanding of merchandising, pricing, forecasting, replenishment, and retail processes.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work on-site in Durban / Pinetown with flexibility to travel to other locations as required.

Experience with SAP S / 4

HANA migrations or greenfield implementations.

Exposure to integration with POS, CRM, and eCommerce systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
