DescriptionDue to an increased workload and demand we are currently recruiting for a Relief Weighbridge Operative to join the team within our, typically covering our quarries in North-East, North Yorkshire, Northumberland and Cumbria. The successful candidate will effectively and efficiently carry out all duties associated with the operation and manning of the weighbridge, including transport and customer co-ordination for a busy framework on the strategic network.
Please be aware that the role will involve shift working that includes days/nights and weekends so you should be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work and be able to remain calm under pressure.
- Booking in and out of all vehicles on sites (multiple).
- Directing goods inwards to correct stockpile/location and liaison with site team.
- Controlling the entry to site of all customers, vehicles and visitors.
- Ensure the general working of the weighbridge area, including the upkeep and cleanliness of equipment and workstations.
- Following training, undertaking a variety of site inspections (Environmental and/or Health and Safety), reporting defects and issues to the site manager.
- Customer liaison on any item that may affect customer service, including keeping customers aware of any delays.
- Ensure customer accounts in order before customer permitted to load.
- Asphalt Plant Programming and transport co-ordination across multiple sites when working on the network.
- Excellent communication skills including oral communication, especially with customers on the telephone as well as in person with delivery personnel and drivers.
- Organised and analytical in order to successfully operate the Weighbridge computer package.
- Confidence and interpersonal skills are important in order to deal with the diverse range of contacts.
- Team player and great organiser who can think logically and critically during a demanding workload.
- Previous experience in this type of role would be a distinct advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Good numeracy skills are required for quick and accurate data processing.
