Fruit and Veg Manager

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fruit & Veg Manager or similar role in FMCG retail.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling and quality control.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy for ordering and reporting.
• Relevant retail or food safety qualifications (advantageous).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Fruit & Veg department.
• Ensure high standards of freshness, quality, and visual merchandising.
• Control stock levels, reduce wastage, and manage shrinkage.
• Achieve sales targets and maximise gross profit.
• Manage ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
• Lead, train, and motivate department staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer queries.
