About the TeamThe RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team provides industry leading services to the UK Water Industry. Our employees support water networks, drainage, leakage consultancy, water resources and efficiency. We analyse complex data and provide pragmatic solutions, including reducing water leakage, preventing flooding and pollution in local communities.
About YouAs a key member of the AS&I business, your role as a Trainee Acoustic Logging Technician is critical to our strategic priorities – to deliver great work for our clients by providing excellent customer service and executing complex operational tasks. You will need to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings and overtime if required. Be willing to travel to different locations and enjoy working outdoors, as most of your work is conducted outside (rain or shine).
YourResponsibilities
- Locating water main fittings using plans
- Deploying and retrieving loggers that record acoustic data used to help locate leakage
- You will enjoy working outdoors, as most of your work is conducted outside (rain or shine)
- A good standard of basic maths and English
- Basic IT skills
- Willing to work occasional nights, weekends and overtime as required
- Have good hearing
- Tidy and well organised
- Have pride in your work and take good care of work equipment and tools
- Happy working alone and as part of a team
(Full training will be provided)
Qualifications- Full UK driving licence
- Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers
- Working in all weather conditions (including night work)
- Working in confined spaces and on highways
- Mandatory drug and alcohol tests and DBS check
