Analytics Manager – B&Q

Location:

Southampton, Store Support Office, England.

Contract:

Permanent, full‑time, hybrid.

From £65,000 + pension, PMI, Share Save, 6.6 weeks holiday.

Role Purpose

Reporting into the Senior Customer Analytics Manager within the Customer & Data Team at B&Q, the Analytics Manager will deliver high quality analysis and insights to drive customer understanding, strategy, experience, engagement, revenue, and business efficiencies across B&Q and Trade Point.

Responsibilities
  • Lead analysis of customers, CRM & Loyalty, marketing performance, and retail insight requirements.
  • Plan, prioritise and deliver analytical work, managing backlog with Agile practices.
  • Lead a functional area of analysis, support wider deliverables, identify opportunities and recommend actions.
  • Run complex analytics, forecasting, set analytical standards through robust methods.
  • Coach, develop and lead analysts; build technical capability and stakeholder influence.
  • Translate stakeholder demand into structured analytical approaches and influence decisions.
  • Ensure analysis drives actionable outcomes; track adoption and impact.
  • Collaborate with Tech, Data Science, DVA and Group Data to align frameworks, definitions and governance.
  • Stay abreast of external analytics developments and support new channels and services.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical background, complex SQL, Python or R proficiency.
  • Project leadership experience, managing teams and stakeholders in matrix environments.
  • Experience with Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Coaching and mentoring highly technical teams.
  • Experience with cloud analytics platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Big Query).
  • Marketing campaign and CRM analysis experience.
  • Statistical methods knowledge (hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, p‑values).
  • Commitment to QA, coding documentation, version control, data governance.
  • Interest in customer behavioural analysis and omnichannel personalisation.
  • Familiarity with Jira/Confluence for workload management.
  • Curiosity, analytical rigor and creative problem solving.
  • Commercial mindset; ability to prioritise valuable actions and communicate insights.
  • Storytelling and visualization skills for reports and dashboards.
