An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Social Services Directorate of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council. As Service Manager
, you will manage a key service area and report directly to the Head of Children’s Services.
- Lead and innovate: Manage residential services and develop new provisions for children looked after.
- Drive change: Champion organisational development, change management, and workforce planning.
- Shape policy: Represent Children’s Services at local, regional, and national forums.
- Ensure excellence: Deliver accurate performance reporting and compliance with statutory duties.
- Collaborate: Build strong partnerships across service areas and agencies.
- Empower teams: Maintain a skilled, qualified workforce committed to excellence.
- A degree‑level qualification (Social Work qualification and Social Care Wales registration desirable).
- Significant management experience in Children’s Social Services or related sectors.
- Proven ability to foster a performance culture and deliver results across interagency boundaries.
- Knowledge of key social care and health policy issues and post‑pandemic challenges.
